Okto develops an application for the “Biro-Biro went nuts” promotion
12/05/2008
After the success of the “Who was better?” campaign, which promoted a fictitious election to decide if Biro Biro or Maradona was the better soccer player, Coca-Cola launched the “Biro-Biro went nuts” promotion, in which the former player from Brazil celebrates his victory by “distributing” his prizes among the fans who voted for him. Okto, leader in the offer of communication and marketing services based on mobile technologies, is a partner in the project, helping with promotion mechanics and in the interactions between users and operators.
In order to participate, consumers need to send an SMS to the number 49220 with the alphanumerical code found on the green metal caps. With just one send, the participant could be instantaneously awarded with 1 debit card worth R$ 200 – 4 thousand cards will be distributed. If the user does not win, he or she will receive a message confirming their participation in the drawing of 50 certificates for gold bars worth R$ 15 thousand and five customized cars.
All of the operators are participating in the promotion. Messages can be sent between 12 midnight on October 13 and 6pm on December 23, 2008. The final drawing will be held on January 10, 2009.
