OKTO | Mobile Ideas

Okto is made of people, and for people, concerned with providing a pleasant working environment that is conducive to the development of the skills of each one, thus favoring the attainment of goals.

It is a company undergoing accelerated and sustainable growth. In 2007 we grew 100% in both number of employees as well as earnings. Many opportunities arise for employees, and we know that recognition and promotions are directly linked to the development of each one.

In 2008 Okto won in the ranking of the 50 best companies to work for in the sectors of information technology and telecommunications.

"Okto is seeking people with initiative and perseverance in problem solving and in responding to challenges. We select intelligent people, who have the ability to constantly learn and seek professional excellence. Because the working environment is based on the interaction between people and areas, we seek people who will get out from behind their desks to resolve issues, discuss opportunities and relate with other collaborators.

The professionals who work at Okto are positive people, capable of gaining knowledge and new skills. We are transparent in our communication and relationships with co-workers and clients. In an innovative market, with high growth and constant changes, Okto collaborators know how to cope with change, transforming uncertainty into opportunity."

Students and Trainees

Students and Trainees

Okto has a trainee program with a high rate of in-house utilization-around 95% of all trainees are hired as regular full-time employees, sometimes even before finishing college. The program aims to provide an environment for learning and practical application of knowledge, and the trainee is always accompanied by a sponsor.

Social Responsibility

Alô Cidadão (Hello Citizen)

"Alô Cidadão" is a project that Okto develops in partnership with Instituto Hartmann Regueira and Instituto Oi Futuro. Residents of the low-income community Pedreira Prado Lopes, in the city of Belo Horizonte, who have cellular phones that use the Oi plans, receive information about job openings, training courses, community activities, and immunization campaigns, among other social programs.

Telethon

The Telethon is an initiative by the SBT television network that began in 1998 and aims to benefit children who need the support of Brazil's Association for Assistance to Handicapped Children (AACD). Okto and two other companies were responsible for the project "Telethon Reverse Auction", whereby a motorcycle was auctioned as part of the funds collected for the Telethon. Okto, together with representatives from other companies, handed over a check for R$ 100,000.00 to television host Adriane Galisteu as a donation to the project.

0800 Rede Jovem Project

The goal of the "0800 Rede Jovem" project is the collective construction of a virtual space for dissemination and consultation of job opportunities for youths, free of charge, filtered according to communities, neighborhoods and cities where the participants live.

The collective construction of this space is done based on surveys, publications and comments made by young people themselves about the opportunities for learning, information, professional training, and cultural/sporting entertainment in their communities. The opportunities can be researched by location and/or by theme.

In addition to a site, the most innovative aspect of the "0800 Rede Jovem" program is that it is also an information system for young people through their mobile phones. Youths registered with the program can receive information about job openings, lectures, courses, open examinations, campaigns, concerts, festivals, tournaments, etc., through SMS technology, a text message, known locally as a "torpedo," is sent their cell phones.

The "0800 Rede Jovem" project which has the key support of Okto, was chosen as one of the 16 finalists of the "ChangeMakers (Sport for a Better World Competition), which rewards initiatives using the theme of sports as an innovative way to promote social transformation. Okto won the prize of R$5,000 and the visibility to continue with this proposal for social transformation. To learn more, log on to www.redejovem.org.br/0800
