Responsible for creating and deploying mobile solutions for media groups, agencies, corporations, online publishers, providers of mobile entertainment and wireless operators, Okto accounts for an average traffic of 100 million transactions per month.
Among Okto’s clients are television networks such as Rede Record, Rede TV!, SBT, MTV, and Band; large corporations in various market verticals such as Santander, Credicard Citi, Dell, Gol, Visanet, and Submarino; content providers; mobile entertainment such as Dada.net, Playphone, Zero9, Flycell; and mobile telephony operators.
The history of Okto began when mobility was taking its first steps in Brazil. Created in the year 2000 as a subsidiary of the US company Tiaxa, the Brazilian unit was consolidated as a specialist in offering services for mobile telephony and multi-operator SMS connectivity.
The local executive had the opportunity to take over the Brazilian operation in 2003. As an independent unit, the company continued to use the name of the parent company, but decisions began being made locally in a more streamlined manner, in order to keep up with the speed of the market, which was in a rapid process of gaining popularity. At that time, Brazil had accumulated nearly 50 million cellular telephones.
In 2006, having reached the mark of 100 million mobile phone subscribers in Brazil and with a growth of over 200%, the Brazilian company launched the new brand: Okto.
In 2007, Okto doubled in size and added lines of business focused on solutions for Mobile Marketing and delivery of third-party content.
In 2008, with 30% of the Brazilian market share for mobile solutions and reaching up to 80% in certain business lines, Okto begins a new stage of expansion, with the introduction of Okto Mexico and its integration with Spring Wireless group, a leader in Mobile Business solutions.
Today, Okto has definitively taken the lead on the market in the areas of Mobile Entertainment, Mobile Marketing and Mobile Business, with a portfolio of services under constant development, always able to meet the demands of its clients and develop new solutions for the Brazilian wireless market.
